That’s a drawing of Hal Jordan. He’s the silver age Green Lantern. He’s pretty awesome, one of my favorite characters. An experimental jet pilot who, in the 90s, freaked out and killed millions and then became the personification of death. He reminds me of my dad a bit. He’s an older dude, but he can still kick some ass.
Who would you choose to play him in a film adaption?
Not this douchebag, that’s for sure.
Listen: I have nothing against Ryan Reynolds. I’m sure he’s a nice guy. But based on his work in such films as The Nines, Van Wilder and Definitely Maybe… this dude is not Hal Jordan. He’s not even a good actor.
Green Lantern could be not only a great movie, but a great franchise. Are you seeing this Blackest Night shit? Motherfuckin’ Zombie Batman? Warner Bros, you have an opportunity to make something amazing here. Don’t waste it on pre-teen girl cred.

If you were not aware, Free Comic Book Day is this coming Saturday, May 2nd. All you have to do is walk down to your local comic book store, pick out a participating book that catches your eye, then go home and enjoy it. For free! This year that book should probably be Blackest Night #0.
I know what you’re thinking: “Blackest Night number zero? What the fuck you talking about, Ron Mexico? There ain’t no book like that!” And you’d be correct, because for the first time ever in Hell’s Kitchen an all-new, never before seen book is being released to coincide with Free Comic Book Day. It’s basically a prelude to the Green Lantern event Blackest Night, or as the fans are calling it “Everyone Is Going To Die And It Will Be Awesome.”
Other books of note include the DC Kids Mega Sampler (containing a Tiny Titans story, which is the most adorable comic in the world) and a 25th anniversary reprint of the totally badass first issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (25th anniversary? Shit, I got old).
