Variant cover by Paul Pope for Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan. I have mixed feelings on the Before Watchmen project, but I absolutely love Paul Pope. Everything he does has this sense of beautiful unease and imperfection.

“I’m a Marvel, and I’m a DC.” Such a brilliant concept… it’s a shame they didn’t take it further. I always thought Wizard’s choice of Wolverine as “best character ever” was just proof of how much of a joke Wizard is. I’m really sure that Superman is a better character than Wolverine. Like, really sure.

FYI: Blue Dong = Integrity. It’s symbolism or something.

Okay… maybe the Watchmen movie isn’t going to be so bad after all.
